Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Scholarship 2012-2013
The University of Manchester - School of Law
The School of Law of The University of Manchester invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a School of Law GTA Scholarship to fund a PhD. The School of Law is a multi-disciplinary School, and we welcome applications from candidates proposing to undertake doctoral research in the areas of law, criminology, socio-legal studies, bioethics, or social ethics & policy. PhD research can be undertaken in any of these areas, however the successful candidate will be able to teach traditional 'law' subjects, to start in September 2012.
The GTA Scholarship will offer the full payment of tuition fees for the duration of the PhD, plus an additional annual stipend as a contribution to maintenance (altogether, an annual amount of approximately £16,500).
The competition for this Scholarship is open to both home/EU and overseas applicants.
Further information concerning this opportunity for PhD funding and the application process can be found on the following page from The School of Law website, where application forms are also available to download: http://www.law.manchester.ac.uk/postgraduate/research/funding/index.html.
Enquiries should be directed to the School's Postgraduate Research Co-ordinator, Mr. Stephen Wadsworth (stephen.wadsworth@manchester.ac.uk).
The deadline for applications to be received is Friday, 13th July 2012.
A full application for a place on the School's PhD programme will already need to have been made at least 4th July 2012.
