[lowongan-beasiswa] job Vacancy - USAID IFACS

 

Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Partner Coordinator on our USAID Indonesia Forestry and Climate Support Project (USAID IFACS).  The USAID IFACS Project is a 4-year project designed to support USAID Indonesia's Country Program Strategy 2009 – 2014, Objective 2: "Sustainable Management of Natural Resources", Intermediate Result 1 "Improved Management of Forest Ecosystems".  USAID IFACS seeks to reduce the threats of deforestation and climate change, and help the Government of Indonesia (GOI) conserve the country's tropical forests, wildlife, and ecosystem processes (including carbon sequestration).

 

1.       Partner Coordinator, Indonesia

The Partner Coordinator will report directly to the Chief of Party and will coordinate partner's training, workshops, STTA, logistics, and outreach efforts; leads the Partner Coordination Committee with the COP; supports the Forest Resources Program Steering Committee.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain regular communication with USAID IFACS implementing partners and USAID forest partner organizations including NGOs and USG agencies.  Work with the Communications Specialist to insure that information is shared among partners through the project web site or other means.
  • Assist the COP to report to USAID on activities of partner organizations and other activities and developments in the forests sector.
  • Collaborate with the M&E Specialist to facilitate integration of partners into work planning and monitoring. 
  • Manage the process of planning and implementing meetings and workshops to facilitate partner coordination and as directed by USAID to support the activities of USG partners.
  • Assist the COP to plan and implement meetings of the project Steering Committee.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of work with donors and implementing partners in Indonesia related to the forestry, biodiversity conservation, and rural development sectors.
  • Proven experience coordinating and liaising with multiple donors (e.g., work planning, M&E, communications, etc.).
  • A graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • excellent  communication skills, both interpersonal and written, and the requisite IT skills needed to fulfill the technical and managerial responsibilities of the position.
  • Fluency in both English and Bahasa.

2. Community Development Specialist, Indonesia

  This full-time position will be based in Jakarta and begin in December.

The Community Development Specialist reports directly to the Chief of Party and will lead efforts under USAID IFACS Project to engage communities in a participatory process to improve their livelihoods and their capacity/commitment to sustainable forest management.  The Community Development Specialist will build the capacity of communities in target sites to engage proactively and confidently in multi-stakeholder forest management fora. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Guide and lead the USAID IFACS team and partners, including local governments, in the process of engaging communities in documenting baseline conditions, communicating on a variety of topics, identifying improved sustainable livelihood opportunities, building capacity, and assisting communities and local government development agencies to access PES and other forms of financing, including GOI budget commitments.
  • Supervise field office community engagement staff and monitor the quality of work being done by local NGO grantees and sub-contractors.
  • Coordinate with other members of the USAID IFACS team and local government/other donors/NGOs to insure that project activities are coordinated at the community level.
  • Supervise the development and implementation of training programs directed at local government, NGO partners and communities.
  • Work with the project Communications Specialist to insure that communications messages and media are appropriate for reaching community and local government audiences at all target sites.
  • Work with the spatial planning team to insure that plans address community needs for sustainable development at all target sites
  • Assist communities and government agencies engaged in local development to implement climate change adaptation activities.
  • Assist the M&E Specialist to collect community-level monitoring data.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years experience implementing development programs at the community level with Indonesia experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong management and communications skills
  • University Degree – graduate degree preferred.        
  • Fluent in verbal and written Indonesian and English languages
  • Ability to work effectively in remote areas with minimal external support.  Be a strong team player able to work harmoniously with diverse stakeholders.  Understanding of climate change adaptation.
