[beasiswa] [info] 9 PhD Research Fellowship positions at NTNU, Norway

Three positions at Department of Mathematical Sciences IME-007/2011. The three candidates will be working within one of the departments research areas. Contact: Head of Department, Professor Sverre Smalø, e-mail: sverresm@math.ntnu.no

IME-008/2011 CoCoCo: Context, Coordination and Communication within Hospitals. This project is a collaboration between the Department of Telematics and the Department of Computer and Information Science. The position may be affiliated to either of the departments depending on the candidate's background and interests. For further information about the project, see http://www.item.ntnu.no/~lillk/projects/CoCoCo/ Contacts: • Professor Lill Kristiansen, e-mail: lillk@item.ntnu.no, Department of Telematics • Professor Pieter Jelle Toussaint, e-mail: pieter@idi.ntnu.no, Department of Computer and Information Science

Two positions at Department of Telematics. IME-009/2011 Media Technology and Art. For further information about the project, see http://www.item.ntnu.no/people/personalpages/fac/leifarne/collaborationspaces Contact: Professor Leif Arne Rønningen, e-mail: leifarne@iten.ntnu.no, Department of Telematics.

IME-010/2011 Telecommunication Markets Modelling. For further information about the project, see http://www.item.ntnu.no/people/personalpages/adm/haraldov/phdposition Contact: Associate professor Harald Øverby, e-mail: haraldov@item.ntnu.no, Department of Telematics.

Two positions at Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. IME-011/2011 Two positions at Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Microwave Engineering. The topic for the position is microwave engineering, with emphasis Time Domain Waveform Engineering for Power Amplifier Efficiency and Linearity. Contact: Associate professor Morten Olavsbråten, e-mail: morten.olavsbraten@iet.ntnu.no

IME-012/2011 Oxide electronics, with emphasis on studies of conducting interfaces between perovskite oxides and it's possibility for future device applications. The project focus on the sythesis of conducting interfaces between epitaxial dielectric materials, and studies of how epitaxy and choice of materials can be used to control the interface's transport properties. The goal of the project is to relate growth issues of such interfaces to future use of them in factual nanoelectronic device technology. Contact: Professor Thomas Tybell, e-mail: thomas.tybell@iet.ntnu.no

One position at Department of Electric Power Engineering. IME-013/2011 Power system balancing with large scale integration of renewables in multi-national power markets. Increasing penetration of wind and more recently solar power in Northern Europe poses significant challenges for power system operation. Because of the unpredictability and variability of these resources, it is necessary to have access to both physical resources and market instruments to secure continuous power supply. The department has done considerable research within this area, and the PhD study will take part in a continuation of this research in the direction of large scale exchange of balancing resources between the Nordic area, the UK and continental Europe using optimization and simulation models. Contact: Professor Gerard Doorman, email: Gerard.Doorman@elkraft.ntnu.no

Applications, inclusive CV, grade transcripts and other enclosures should be sent electronically through http://www.jobbnorge.no/

Applications should be marked with the particular IME-number Application deadline: March 1st 2011.
