Bls: [beasiswa] [butuh info] terkait LoA ke Univ of Quessland

Wa'alaikumsalaam

Sebelumnya good luck buat aplikasinya. Saya alhamdulilah salah satu awardee tahun kemaren.

Untuk mendapatkan LOA di UQ, terakhir kali saya coba daftar, mereka meminta kita mengirimkan sejumlah uang untuk application fee sekitar 100 AUS Dollars. Usul saya, lebih baik coba mendapatkan LOA via agen seperti EdLink+Connex atau SUN Education, biasanya tidak dipungut bayaran karena mereka sudah bekerjasama dengan pihak universitas. Atau datang ke pameran pendidikan Australia, karena biasanya kalau ada perwakilan kampus, mereka akan membantu mendapatkan LOA secara gratis untuk anda.

Satu hal lagi, LOA tidak menjadi syarat mutlak untuk mendapatkan beasiswa AAS, karena saat kita sudah diterima nanti pun, kita masih diberi kebebasan untuk menentukan kampus pilihan kita, dan pihak AAS yang akan membantu kita mendapatkan LOA.

[beasiswa] [butuh info] LPDP - pendaftaran online dengan IPK di bawah minimum

Salam,

Mengenai persyaratan IPK untuk pendaftaran LPDP, seperti yang sudah sering dibahas pada milis ini adalah minimum 3.00, namun tidak menutup kemungkinan bagi mereka yang memiliki IPK kurang dari itu asal dilengkapi dengan unconditional LoA (informasi ini pun ada pada brosur dari LPDP)

IPK saya di bawah batas tersebut, namun saya sudah mendapatkan unconditional LoA beberapa hari lalu.

Akan tetapi pada saat mendaftar LPDP melalui website, pendaftaran saya secara otomatis ditolak oleh sistem karena IPK tidak memenuhi syarat (baru tahap pertama, saya bahkan belum mendapat kesempatan untuk upload dokumen pendukung).

Bagaimana caranya mendaftar jika IPK di bawah minimum?

Apakah ini adalah perubahan sistem? Seingat saya tahun lalu saya masih bisa memasukkan pendaftaran meskipun dengan IPK yang kurang

[beasiswa] [info] PhD position in probabilistic graphical model-based security @ univ. Paris 6

"Probabilistic graphical model-based security for SCADA critical
infrastructures"
Fully funded PhD position at University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC).

We are seeking for highly creative and motivated candidates for a PhD
position at the UPMC's computer science laboratory (LIP6). The goal of
the PhD is to exploit probabilistic graphical model technologies to
detect possible intrusions or cyber-attacks in SCADA systems. The latter
are exploited to control many industrial processes, including in
critical infrastructures like energy and water distribution, nuclear
plants, etc. The PhD is funded as part of H2020 European project
SCISSOR.

The prospective PhD student will first work on the learning of the
probabilistic graphical models from data acquired from the SCADA
system. Here, the challenges are fourfold: i) SCADA systems are temporal
and their different parts have quite different dynamics, in particular
they evolve at different time granularities; ii) SCADA systems are very
heterogeneous by nature, which implies that learning must be performed
on NoSQL databases (containing both continuous and discrete random
variables); iii) data are acquired in a streaming mode and their amount
is expected to be high; iv) the system is non-stationary: it evolves
over time. Once the models will be learnt, the PhD will have to develop
efficient inference algorithms to detect intrusions and attacks as
quickly as possible.

The PhD student will work on the necessary theoretical concepts and
methodologies to design these algorithms and will also implement them in
C++ into the aGrUM graphical model library (http://agrum.lip6.fr).

Requirements to candidate include a good mathematical background and
excellent programming skills in C++. A good experience in probabilistic
graphical models is also a requirement. The candidate should be able to
work both independently and in collaboration with others.

ETH Zurich is one of the leading universities of the world with a strong focus on science and engineering. In 2011 it established the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in collaboration with the National research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore to do interdisciplinary research on pressing problems. In collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and Singapore Management University (SMU), SEC is undertaking a research programme on "Future Resilient Systems", providing an opportunity for about 40 PhD students and 25 PostDoc researchers to get a PhD degree and/or to strengthen their research skills in an inspiring cross-disciplinary research environment. PhD Student in Extreme Events in Industrial and Cyber Systems

This Project will address how to characterize system resilience, how to integrate multiple hazards into one metric, and how to appraise "beyond statistical distribution events", which it has been suggested be called "dragon king events". More specifically, the research work undertaken will develop metrics to characterize the resilience of both single socio-technical systems and a system of infrastructure system | identify network representations for CI systems with node resilience and between-nodes interdependencies to derive overall system resilience for different disruption scenarios | identify representations to integrate site- and technology- specific strains (e.g. technical failure and flooding) into the network level of interacting plants / structures | provide generic, quantitative conceptualizations of the resilience framework, consisting of response functions that reflects a system's strain-stress behavior, and a recovery function that represents system-inherent capabilities that are modulated by social capabilities and resources.

Owing to the highly quantitative nature of the study, the candidate will be expected to have excellent computing skills in numerical Languages such as Matlab or Python, as well as strong background in statistics, engineering, physical or mathematica sciences. All candidates will be evaluated on their merits and qualifications, without regard to gender, race, age, religion, or physical ability.

[beasiswa] [butuh info] Nasib penerima beasiswa LPDP jika tidak dapat menyelesaikan perkuliahan

Apa yang terjadi pada seorang penerima beasiswa LPDP jika tidak dapat menyelesaikan perkuliahannya. Misalnya mengalami DO atau kehabisan beasiswa dan kuliah belum selesai. Sementara tidak ada dana alternatif lain yang bisa digunakan untuk membiayai perkuliahan. Apakah kita diharuskan mengganti beasiswanya atau mengalami resiko lain?
