Germany: Phd/ Doctoral position in Biological sciences at ZMBP Tübingen


A phD position will be available on 1st of July 2011 within the Dept. of Plant Biochemistry at the Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP), Eberhard-Karls-University in Tübingen, Germany.

Our research focuses on pathogen perception and host cell-reprogramming by microbial factors in the model plant Arabidopsis. The aim of the project will consist to combine biochemical and molecular approaches to understand the role in planta of Avr2, an effector from Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of potato late blight.

Applicants should hold a M.Sc. or equivalent in biological sciences with some experience in plant physiology and/or genetics. Basic knowledge in Bioinformatics would be an advantage. A salary according to German standards (E13/65% TV-L) will be provided.
