EPFL offers a limited (though increasing) number of fellowships at the Master's level to students with outstanding academic records.

How to proceed?

Candidates to such a fellowship can apply in the course of their electronic application procedure for the Master's program.
Eligibility
===========
Anyone holding a Bachelor's degree is eligible to apply to the EPFL Masters Programs and also to an EPFL fellowship. The selection of candidates and the granting of the fellowships is done based solely on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates.
What's in an EPFL Excellence Fellowship?
========================================
Each fellowship consists of a financial package of:
CHF 16'000 per academic year (thus, a maximum of CHF 32'000 for a two-year Master's) for external applicants.
CHF 10'000 (paid in two installements) and a certificate of excellency for internal applicants (holders of an EPFL Bachelor's degree).
Fellowships applications

The merits of all applications are first determined by the Sections (Programs).
The granting of fellowships is then validated by the Fellowships Committee chaired by Prof. H. Girault, the Dean of Bachelor/Master studies
INTERNAL (EPFL) applications
==============================
EPFL's Excellence Fellowships may be granted to in-house EPFL applicants. Such applications are only reviewed once a year in the June session. Applicants should submit a paper copy of their file to their section.
Applications should be submitted in May and include the following:
- letter of recommendation by the Section head
- CV
- letter of purpose
- record of EPFL grades
EXTERNAL applications
=======================
Applications for EPFL's Excellence Fellowships are reviewed twice a year in January and May.
External applicants should enter the requested information in IS Academia (additional data fields) during the application procedure for admission to Master studies. Applications should include the following:
- CV
- letter of purpose
- 3 letters of reference
- certified grades for university studies
- TOEFL and GRE scores (not compulsory but welcome)
