Open fulltime funded PhD student/post-doc positions for Monitoring, Analyzing and Testing Uncertainties in Cloud and Cyber-Physical Systems. We are looking for excellent PhD student and/or post-doc positions to join our vibrant, dynamic and multinational team at the Distributed Systems group at the Vienna University of Technology (dsg.tuwien.ac.at). We have fulltime funded positions for a PhD student (3 years) and/or a post-doc (2 years), starting as soon as possible (expected within Jan-Mar 2015). The expected candidates will work on an emerging exciting topic of Cloud computing and Internet of Things with a focus on understanding and analyzing uncertain behaviors in a hybrid computing environment of cloud systems and cyber-physical systems and on providing platforms and techniques to support testing these uncertainties in such an environment. This research will be carried out in the context of the H2020 U-Test project where the expected candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading research groups in this topic. The expected candidates will work under the supervision of Profs Hong-Linh Truong and Schahram Dustdar. The selected candidate will be employed fulltime by the Vienna University of Technology. A fulltime funded PhD student will work 40 hours/weeks and receive the salary at level B1 (currently 2615 EUR/month gross, 14 times/year) or a postdoc will work 40 hours/week and receive the salary at level B1 (currently 3483 EUR/month gross, 14 times/year). Note that the current tuition fee at the Vienna University of Technology is maximum 745.22 EUR per semester (http://www.tuwien.ac.at/en/services/department_for_studies_and_examinations/tuition_fee/) with several exemption cases.
