The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology for different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total approximately some 250 staff. Area of responsibilities/description of the work
Applications are invited for postdoctoral research positions in biostatistics and bioinformatics to work in the development and application of statistical methods for large cohort studies, family data and high-throughput omics data analyses. Appointment will be for 2 years, with evaluation after one year.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics or related discipline, and have strong interest in medical and biological problems. Previous experience in computational methods is an advantage. Successful candidates will have ample opportunities to work on both methodological as well as applied collaborative projects.

A person is eligible for a postdoc position if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.

About the biostatistics group at MEB
The biostatistics group comprises around 35 member, including 3 professors, 4 senior lecturers (universitetslektorer), applied biostatisticians, postdoc and PhD students. The group is involved in a wide variety of research projects, including population-based cohort and case-control studies, twin and family studies, survival analyses, predictive modeling, genetic epidemiology and bioinformatics.
