Most likely, it will be a set of typical job interview questions:
* Why do you want to do a PhD? Why do you want to do a PhD with this particular supervisor? Why the UK?
* Why did you work on this or that topic for your undergraduate project.
* Have you ever worked on this or that software?
* Are you familiar with this or that experimental technique?
* What do you want to do after you graduate?
Some may ask about your life situation (are you married? do you have kids? will they be coming with you?)
They want to assess:
* Are you competent? Do you have the right skills?
* Are you motivated? Or are you just looking for a free ride? Are you lazy? Will you be willing to work hard?
* Will you get along with other people in the project?
