=================================================================== University Assistant in Embedded Automotive Systems (two positions for PhD candidates) At the Institute for Technical Informatics Graz University of Technology, Austria ID number: 4480/14/019 =================================================================== Note: The official German version will appear soon at http://mibla.tugraz.at/13_14 The Institute for Technical Informatics (http://iti.tugraz.at) at Graz University of Technology is currently seeking excellent university assistants to strengthen its scientific team dedicated to research and teaching in various areas of Embedded Automotive Systems. The positions are offered in association with the newly founded professorship "Embedded Automotive Systems", and focus mainly on research in Automotive Operating Systems and Microcontroller (Co)Design, Car2X Communication, and Vehicular Networks. The candidates are expected to pursue a PhD in the mentioned areas. Successfully completed university studies (Diploma or Master) in either Technical Informatics, Telematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable fields are required. Candidates should have an outstanding expertise and interest in at least one of the following areas: Design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of embedded systems, ideally in the automotive area; real-time operating systems and computer architecture (single/multi-core); wireless mobile or sensor networks and reliable communication systems. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to supervising courses and bachelor or master students at the Institute for Technical Informatics (in German language). Experience from academia or industry, e.g., the participation in research projects, international cooperation, or scientific publishing, would be an advantage. Graz University of Technology aims to increase the share of women, and explicitly encourages women to apply. In case of equal skill levels, women will be given preference. The salary will be according to level B1 of the collective agreement for university employees (Kollektivvertrag) with a minimum of 2615.80 EUR (14 times per year), and can possibly be further negotiated depending on prior work experience.
