Ward Biotech Ltd. This MSc Studentship is established with the generous support of Ward Biotech Ltd., an Irish Biotechnology Company.
MSc Project Summary - The project will involve studies on oral health care.
This is a collaborative study and may involve periods of work in other research centres.
The post-holder will have responsibility for a number of specific areas, including:
- Complete a focused MSc Programme based upon oral health in companion animals.
- Have an appreciation of good laboratory practice to protect intellectual property.
- Prepare and present for discussion within the team on a regular basis.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and peer reviewed scientific publications.
Profile - The ideal candidate will have an excellent degree in one of the Life Sciences; combined with a deep interest in determining the biology of health/disease. Candidates should be enthusiastic, self- motivated individuals, who interact well within a larger research team. To be eligible for consideration to undertake a programme of study for a Master's Degree by Research, a candidate must have obtained a standard of at least Second Class Honours in an approved primary degree or equivalent.
Requirements
- Degree in a Life Science (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology) and be a citizen of the European Union.
- Excellent scientific, organisational and project management skills.
- Commitment to research and excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivery of high- quality research.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
MSc Duration: 1 year to start on 1st January 2014.
Stipend: €20,000 per annum
