PhD or PostDoc Position in Wireless Networking      Application deadline: July 13, 2014      We are looking for a talented graduate of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering who wants to pursue his or her studies with a PhD or continue his or her research as a PostDoc at the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Paderborn. The position is within the Distributed Embedded Systems group headed by Prof. Falko Dressler.      Our research activities are focused on adaptive wireless networking and self-organization methods with applications in wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, inter-vehicle communication, and nano-communication networks.      The position is not bound to specific research projects but offers the opportunity to explore and develop own research within one of the following areas:  • Robust and interference-aware real-time communication  • Energy-aware access techniques and routing mechanisms  • Software-defined radio in cyber physical systems  • Next generation cellular networks      For more information, please refer to our web site at http://www.ccs-labs.org/.      A deep understanding of the principles of wireless networking is required; knowledge in software defined radio, network coding, or relaying techniques is considered a plus.      Successful candidates are expected to contribute to research projects and teaching as active members of our young team. In return, we provide a relaxed and inspiring working atmosphere allowing you to address interesting and challenging research problems.      The position will be filled as soon as possible for two years with an option to be extended to five years. Salaries will be according to the German TV-L E13 system.      Applicants should have earned, or should be about to earn, an M.Sc. degree or a PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or in a related area, and have demonstrated prior achievements in any of the above areas.      All applicants should possess good written and oral communication skills in English, a strong mathematical background, and programming experience. Enthusiasm for leading-edge re- search, a mix of creativity and persistence, and team spirit are essential.
