UTS PhD Scholarships 2014      We are seeking highly motivated PhD candidates with excellent academic records to apply for PhD and work in the Centre for Real Time Information Networks (CRIN). CRIN is a major research centre in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology based in the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and is among the largest research centres in Australia in telecommunication area.    www.crin.uts.edu.au  www.uts.edu.au       The scholarships are as follows:  •	IRS - International Research Scholarship. This will pay your fees and is worth about $20K.  •	IPRS - International Postgraduate Research Scholarship. This will provide an additional $25K living allowance  •	APA - Australian Postgraduate Award. The same as the IPRS, but is primarily intended for Australian citizens and permanent residents.    Some are available to international students  •	RTS - Research Training Scheme. Same as IRS, but for Australian citizens and permanent residents.  In addition to the above, the candidates will have an opportunity to work as a Teaching Intern at the school of computing and communication. These are worth $10K per year and paid to qualified candidates who are selected as part of this program.           To be competitive in winning a scholarship, you will need the following:  •	A first class equivalent or Master by research or coursework in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Mathematics.  •	Previously published papers in reputable international conferences or journals (Preference is given to ERA ranked conferences and journals).   •	Can communicate effectively in English language and is capable of technical writing in English (see http://www.uts.edu.au/future-students/international/essential-information/academic-entry-requirements/english-language for English requirement).  •	Strong mathematical background      To apply, please forward the following details to Associate Prof. Mehran Abolhasan (Mehran.abolhasan@uts.edu.au) or Prof. Guoqiang Mao (Guoqiang.Mao@uts.edu.au)  •	A research proposal.
