Swinburne University of Technology and Netflix Inc. are pleased to announce a new full-time PhD position in the area of high performance, IP-based content delivery. The position is based in Melbourne, Australia.
Key points:
- The research will be in collaboration with Netflix Inc. Areas of interest include operating system and network stack design, congestion control, transport protocols, algorithms for buffer management, and adaptive streaming
- The successful applicant will be provided with a tax-free stipend (living allowance) of $32K to $34K AUD per year, a full tuition fee waiver and support for relevant equipment and conference travel expenses. (cf. the typical Australian government full-scholarship of ~$25K AUD per year.)
- Applications should ideally be received by 5pm August 1st 2014 (Melbourne time)
