Several open PhD research assistant positions are available at the Big Data Management and Mining Research Laboratory (BDLab) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Colorado Denver. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on various topics on data management and mining and database systems, including the following:  * Management and mining of "mobility data" from molecular to cosmos scale  * High-throughput and large-scale distributed and parallel data processing with modern hardware  * Big data management and mining for a variety of data-driven applications, including intelligent transportation, bio-computation, health informatics, safety and security enforcement, retail optimization, geospatial analytics, and scientific computation  * Spatial data management and mining      More details on the requirements and application procedure are available at:   http://cse.ucdenver.edu/~farnoush/#positions
