The Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical  Engineering (http://www.ntnu.edu/ime) at the Norwegian University of  Science and Technology (NTNU) has a vacancy for 6 PhD candidate  positions at the Department of Computer and Information Science  (http://www.ntnu.edu/ime).  These positions are "free positions" in  the sense they are not pre-allocated to particular topics or  supervisors, the candidates with strongest background and best project  proposals will be selected.      If you have an interest in one of the positions within the research  area of database systems, please contact: Prof. Kjetil Nørvåg,  noervaag at idi.ntnu.no       Please note that in order to be considered for  a position within this research area, it is expected that the  candidate has a research-oriented Masters degree (or is close to  finishing) in database systems or related area like algorithms,  distributed systems, or information retrieval.
