Call for application M.Sc. Program in Energy Technology
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Mekelle University is inviting applicants for the M. Sc program in Energy Technology for 2004 EC academic year. The program is sponsored by the EnPe project (NORAD's Master Program within Energy and Petroleum sector) and is conducted in collaboration with 5 partner universities: NTNU, Norway; EMU Mozambique, Makerere University, Uganda, UDSM, Tanzania and University of Malawi, Malawi. The M.Sc. in Energy Technology program is hosted at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mekelle University.

To give technical depth across the discipline of Energy Technology and its applications
To encourage innovation in Energy Technology
To develop and enhance research skills in Energy Technology
Requirement for the Scholarship Application:
Applicants need to have B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and are not enrolled in any other graduate programs at time of application;
CGPA of 2.75 or more for male and CGPA of 2.5 or more for female;
Provide certified copies of their B.Sc. study degree and Student records;
Two letters of recommendation;
Provide letter of at least two years of experience in Energy or Energy related fields after graduation;
Provide a letter from current institution/company that states that you will be given study leave and you will continue to work in the institution/company after completing your study,
Should be able to be enrolled as full time in the program;
Can sign an agreement with the EnPe project regarding the rights and obligations of the scholarship.
What will the EnPe Scholarship Offer?
Monthly stipend of equivalent to USD 400 in Birr for a total of 19 months. This amount will cover all expenses during study program;
Tuition fee of USD 3,000 per year that will be directly transferred to EnPe project account.
Total of 11 scholarships are available for the 2004 EC academic year, out of which 4 will be dedicated to female candidates only and 7 for male and female applicants based on competition.
