The database group at the department of computer science offers a PhD student / Research Assistant position.      Job Responsibility: You will participate in the new research project "ELISA - Evolution of Semantic Annotations" granted by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the National Research Fund Luxembourg (FNR). The project aims at the development and evaluation of new methods for creating and maintaining semantic annotations. This includes the development of migration algorithms to update outdated annotations when new versions of the underlying data or ontologies become available. The methods will be applied and evaluated using real-world data from the biomedical domain, such as electronic health records (EHRs) or case report forms (CRFs).       Qualifications and Requirements:  - University degree (M. Sc. or Diploma) with above-average grades in computer science or related fields  - Excellent knowledge in the design and realization of databases and web-based information systems  - Excellent oral and written English communication skills  - High interest in research and an academic career (doctoral graduation)  - High interest in the processing and integration of biomedical data is desired      The position is part time (75%) and temporary (3 years). Payment will be according to the German salary group E13 TVL (gross salary ~32.500 ? and ~36.500 ? after one year).
